Green Venues in Hampshire

We’ve been keenly following the Cop26 conference hosted in the UK this month, and feeling inspired by the changes that the countries of the world are committing to. Here in Hampshire our venues are all very committed to becoming more sustainable, for a long time our hotels have been making changes at their properties including:

  • Using local produce for food, beverage and toiletries
  • Turning off tv’s rather than putting on standby
  • Using recyclable products wherever possible
  • Asking guests to re-use linen and towels where they can
  • Encouraging employees to be greener using initiatives like “Cycle to Work”
  • Replacing plastic bottles with glass which is recycled
  • Supporting national food charities such as FareShare and supplying unused food to food banks
  • Providing unwanted (clean) bedding to charities
  • Some venues in Southampton are benefitting from natural heat sources as the city is sat on geo-thermal rocks
  • and so much more

One of our venues in Hampshire has committed to planting trees encouraging their meeting clients to be part of their campaign for New Growth at New Place. Every client with a conference for over 20 delegates is invited to plant a tree supplied by Mayfield Nurseries and in association with Mind Solent. For more information about this green initiative or to find out more about our venues commitments please get in touch on 0345 226 9944.
