Hampshire Highlights – See and Do
With many great things to do across Hampshire we thought we would bring some light upon additional highlights of the area.
Hampshire holds many interesting sights with so much to see and do – Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard with armoured HMS Warrior or Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory, all sitting nearby the 170 metre Spinnaker Tower. Down by the waterfront find delish restaurants, bustling nightlife with many trendy bars and nightclubs. Easily accessible and home to many major businesses the city offers two busy railway stations (One located in the city centre and other in Portsmouth Harbour). Additionally, there are regular ferry services and simple drive via the M275 motorway.
The New Forest National Park that stretches over 218 miles reaching Hampshire through to Dorset, brings miles of picturesque venues and stunning scenery. Once the royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror the New Forest’s quaint villages and vibrant market towns include attractions such as Beaulieu National Motor Museum and Exbury Gardens. A perfect getaway for conferences and events easily accessible by the M27 and several mainline train stations with regular services from London (Including Brockenhurst, Sway and Ashurst).
East Hampshire sits in the centre of South Downs National Park, stretching from Winchester through to Eastbourne, these rolling green hills were said to be once inspiration for novelist Jane Austen, who’s former home you can visit in Chawton, now an intimate museum the quaint cottage showcases historical belongings and immersive visit. This part of the county is home to pretty chocolate-box villages, Winchester’s magnificent Cathedral and stunning rural settings. With two mainline railway stations (In Alton and Petersfield) The A3 road also runs through east Hampshire through to Surrey.
Southampton a thriving business city with one of the leading shipping ports in Europe is Hampshire, provides a compact destination easy to explore with a growth of new conference facilities in recent years, the exciting venues include sports grounds, conference centres, cruise terminal, spacious hotels, 02 Guildhall. With variety of attractions West End Theatres, SeaCity museum, vibrant nightlife and extensive dining options. Accessible with an international airport, train stations and motorway access via M27 or M3.
